Road to Texas 200

Texas has always been more than a place. It is a story still being written.
Road to Texas 200: The Texas Authors 2036 Campaign is a statewide journey leading to March 2, 2036, the 200th anniversary of Texas. Through readers, writers, educators, libraries, events, partnerships, and public participation, this campaign will help celebrate the literary voice of Texas and build momentum toward a major historic milestone.

What Is Road to Texas 200?

Road to Texas 200 is a public campaign created by Texas Authors to help Texas read, remember, and rise together on the road to 2036.
This campaign will spotlight books, connect readers and writers, support literary programming, encourage participation from educators and libraries, and invite businesses and organizations to become part of a long-term Texas story.
